To women who voted for the president and spent Friday night attending and enjoying various inaugural balls around Washington, D.C., the march on Saturday was not a little baffling to them, McClatchy Papers reported.

“I think it’s great, do your thing, but I just don’t know what they’re doing it for. They’re talking about rights, women’s rights, but what rights are being taken away from any women?” asked Susan Clarke, 50, who came to the capital from Charlotte, North Carolina, and wore a blue, bedazzled “Tar Heel Deplorable” shirt. “I don’t understand what the point is.”

Trump-supporting women were also a little indignant that one group would presume to speak for all women.

The protest, billed as the Women’s March on Washington, was expected to draw around 200,000 people on Saturday, who planned to march along the same route that Trump’s inaugural procession took on Friday. Similar marches were planned in hundreds of cities around the country and the world. (RELATED: What’s the new president prioritizing? Find out at Trump.news)

But at least 15 women McClatchy Papers interviewed said they weren’t keen on the title of the march.

“They can protest, it’s their right, but don’t call it the ‘Women’s March,’” 23-year-old Ellie Todd, who drove to the inauguration with a couple friends from Spartanburg, South Carolina, said. “That makes it sound like it’s a big unified thing, when really they’re picking very divisive issues and protesting against Trump—who by the way is now our president—instead of for something that would bring us all together. It’s not all women.”

Organizers have claimed that the march isn’t anti-Trump, but instead a ‘rallying cry’ for women’s issues and a host of Left-wing causes that they insist are going to be threatened under Trump’s administration.

According to the event’s policy platform, issues include racial profiling (by police), climate change, abortion and LGBTQ rights. The official web site lists 177 partners that include the Human Rights Campaign, NAACP Voto Latino and Planned Parenthood.

And while the platform statement includes language stating that anyone is welcome, no matter their beliefs or “political affiliation,” that was demonstrated to be a blatant lie—just like the ‘it’s not about Trump’ excuse.

Sheree Marre, 59, drove to the inauguration from Huntersville, North Carolina; she said she had friends who wanted to participate in the march but were told they couldn’t.

“They were pro-life, and apparently they weren’t allowing pro-life women to be part of the march,” she told McClatchy Papers. She added that the protest, by its very nature, implies that if you’re female, you can’t be a Trump supporter. (RELATED: Stay current with the Trump administration policy at Whitehouse.news)

Marre noted that she felt she was under some pressure to defend her support for Trump to other women after audio from 2005 of him talking about women in a crude manner surfaced during the campaign.

“We’re a forgiving country, and everybody makes mistakes,” she said. “I mean look at Nixon. Trump is human. But this day one, let’s give him a chance.”

The Left, however, is not in a forgiving mood, as is evidenced by the perpetual protesting that has taken place since Trump won the Nov. 8 election. In fact, as reported by The National Sentinel, perpetual protesting and criticism of Trump is going to be the Left’s modus operandi for at least the next four years.

Others interviewed by McClatchy said the women’s march was misguided and makes an assumption about Trump that does not ring true.

“I want to tell them, ‘Ladies – what are you doing?’” said Donna Lutz, 71, who traveled to the inauguration from Gainesville, Florida.

“Look at his beautiful daughters. Look at the woman he put in charge of his campaign, a woman that has done an extraordinary job,” she said, notiubg out that women who had worked with Trump for several years spoke well of him at the Republican National Convention.

“They said he was a great boss; we got paid the same,” she said.

Here are the top Trump ‘hate crime’ hoaxes of 2016 /stupidnews/2017-01-20-here-are-the-top-trump-hate-crime-hoaxes-of-2016 /stupidnews/2017-01-20-here-are-the-top-trump-hate-crime-hoaxes-of-2016#respond Wed, 30 Nov -0001 00:00:00 +0000 http://162.244.66.231/stupidnews/2017-01-20-here-are-the-top-trump-hate-crime-hoaxes-of-2016 Following the presidential election in November, the freaked-out ‘mainstream media’ invented a narrative that scores of alternative news sites published a number of “fake news” reports fed to them by Russian propagandists, this site included.

Since then, of course, many of those same outlets have continued to publish fake news or, at a minimum, push a fake narrative that they manufactured out of whole cloth, just to superimpose their Left-wing agenda onto the daily news cycle.

But one of the most heinous of all media ‘crimes’ are when MSM outlets push made-up “hate crimes” that turn out to be nothing of the sort. And in fact, as we saw recently in Chicago, it’s very likely that pushing phony hate crimes stories is having the effect of causing the ill-informed to act out, believing it’s some sort of retribution largely against Caucasians that is justified.

One of the biggest recipients last year of hate crimes hoaxes was President-elect Donald Trump. To wit:

— ‘Vote Trump’ black church arson: In the days before the Nov. 8 election, a historic African-American church in Greenville, Miss., was set on fire, gutting the institution making it a total loss. The alleged perpetrator even left a spray-painted message on the scorched brick: “Vote Trump.”

Well, that’s proof that a white, angry, bigoted, racist Trump supporter was the culprit, right? Only it wasn’t. In fact, as Bugout.news reported, the suspected arsonist was not only black but a member of the same church he allegedly burned up. And, we presume, not a Trump supporter.

— The lying hijab: A female college student from Lafayette, La., filed a complaint with local police claiming that two men attacked her and robbed her of her wallet and hijab, the head covering that Muslim women wear. She also claimed that they shouted racial slurs at her and that one of the alleged attackers was wearing a Donald Trump hat.

Didn’t happen. In fact, the woman wound up facing criminal charges herself for filing a false report.

— Black woman ‘harassed’: A black woman’s story about how a group of white, male Trump supporters harassed her at a gas station in Delaware went viral after she posted the alleged incident on Facebook. Then police began investigating, then suddenly she deleted her post and recanted her story.

And police said, according to this report, she never even filed an official report.

— The gay Canadian: A gay filmmaker from Canada claimed that he was assaulted by a gaggle of Trump supporters on Election Day. He claimed that the attackers shouted abusive slurs at him earlier in the evening at a bar, before he was then beaten in a nearby alleyway. As ‘evidence,’ he posted a bloodied picture of himself in an emergency room, saying the attackers smashed a beer bottle over his head and shouted a number of homosexual slurs.

Except that the whole story was a lie. The filmmaker, Chris Ball, never filed a police report, according to Santa Monica Police Department officials, and a police investigation revealed there was no record of Ball being treated at a local emergency room, as he claimed. So, with no official record of the “assault by Trump supporters” and no official hospital record, one can only assume this is a hoax as well.

— Trump supporters hate Muslims: Another alleged incident involving an 18-year-old Muslim woman, this time in New York City. She claimed that she was attacked by a trio of drunk males who screamed “Donald Trump!’ and called her a “f**king terrorist,” admonishing her to “get the hell out of the country.” She said they tried to pull at her handbag and yank her hijab off of her head.

But not only was this a lie, it turns out she told it as an excuse to avoid the wrath of her parents for being late for curfew.

Side note: The Washington Post, itself one of the biggest creators of fake news, described her faked incident in this way:

The highly publicized incident bore many of the same hallmarks as scores of other anti-Islamic hate-crime incidents reported in the wake of Donald Trump’s November victory in the presidential election.

“Scores?” Since when?

— The Swastika hoax: We’ve been told repeatedly throughout the campaign that Trump and his supporters were Nazis, so it only figures a couple of those knuckleheads would act like Nazis at some point, right?

Two Northwestern University freshmen were accused of spray-painting racist, homophobic graffiti, along with Trump’s name, inside the university’s chapel, accompanied by some other derogatory things defacing photos of Muslim students and the word “God.”

The obvious implication was that the graffiti was intended to make it seem as though the accused were Trump supporters, even though news stories do not specifically state this. But that’s the only reasonable explanation for why the two students would even mention our new president.

— Hateful notes [not]: When Taylor Volk, a North Park University student, claimed she was receiving hateful notes and emails containing threatening language and mentions of support for Trump, school officials investigated.

The found nothing. In fact, they discovered that those “threats” were fabricated.

— Trump hates Latinos too: Anti-Latino graffiti at Elon University stating, “Bye Bye Latinos Hasta La Vista,” was actually spray-painted by a Latino student, who later tried to claim it was all just a “joke.” And of course, the mainstream media jumped right on the story before looking into its veracity. As usual.

— But he LOVES the KKK: Police said that a black man faked a hate crime, then set his girlfriend’s car on fire and staged his own kidnapping, using his own blood to write “KKK” and “Trump” in a bid to throw detectives off the trail of his deceit.

— ‘Rock’-ing it for Trump: A black, female student attending Bowling Green State University said that white male students wearing Trump shirts launched rocks at her and yelled the typical racial slurs that you hear about the day after Trump won the election. But, as police found out, she wasn’t even in the location she claimed to be in, and she regularly changed her story.

— Hillary Clinton gets involved: After three black students claimed to have been attacked by some white guys on a bus, a number of protests broke out and there was outrage expressed all over social media and their campus, the University of Albany. The alleged incident even earned a shout-out tweet from Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.

Uh, but in reality, the three black students were the aggressors, and teamed up to harass a 19-year-old white female.

The 10 biggest purveyors of fake news in 2016: CNN, Washington Post, MSNBC, Forbes and more /stupidnews/2017-01-20-the-10-biggest-purveyors-of-fake-news-in-2016-cnn-washington-post-msnbc-forbes-and-more /stupidnews/2017-01-20-the-10-biggest-purveyors-of-fake-news-in-2016-cnn-washington-post-msnbc-forbes-and-more#respond Wed, 30 Nov -0001 00:00:00 +0000 http://162.244.66.231/stupidnews/2017-01-20-the-10-biggest-purveyors-of-fake-news-in-2016-cnn-washington-post-msnbc-forbes-and-more This past year will be remembered for a lot of things, including the year that so-called fake news helped one unlikely presidential candidate win the White House.

For weeks since President Donald J. Trump vanquished two-time presidential loser Hillary Clinton, a narrative emerged that “fake news,” as in propaganda, fed to hundreds of alternative media news sites by Russian intelligence swayed voters away from Clinton and into Trump’s corner.

No proof has ever emerged substantiating this tin-foil-hat conspiracy, mind you.

Nevertheless, this narrative has been expanded and made “official,” so to speak. President Obama has used it, in part, as his justification for sanctioning Russian intelligence and diplomatic missions and operatives. And it has been used by Congress and the president as justification to create a de facto Ministry of Truth within the U.S. government, ostensibly to identify and counteract the “fake news” and propaganda coming from foreign governments (a long-accepted intelligence/counterintelligence technique which happened all through the Cold War and remains in use today).

And who will disseminate the government’s version of what is supposedly ‘the truth’? You guessed it: The very same ‘mainstream’ media institutions and outlets that have been creating and distributing fake news for decades.

With that in mind, we bring you the 10 worst offenders of fake news in 2016:

1. ‘The Russians did it’: The Washington Post— The paper mainstreamed the narrative that “The Russians Hacked the Election” with a shoddy piece of journalism reporting that Russian intelligence gave hundreds of alternative media sites (including ours) “propaganda” in the form of “news” aimed at helping Trump and hurting Clinton [playing her role, Clinton would later blame it on some grudge Russian President Vladimir Putin held against her].

The sole “source” for the story was some shady, never-before-heard-of group of “experts” in various fields who claimed their “analysis” concluded without a doubt that Russian counterintelligence had meddled in our election. So flimsy and fake was the story that the Post eventually had to publish a sort-of retraction, admitting it’s story about fake Russian news was itself fake.

What is even more pathetic is the Post’s attempt to deflect from its own journalistic failings by lashing out at social media giants like Facebook…for publishing fake news (which, of course, included those fake stories from the Post). In a post-election rant, the paper’s own editorial board laughably pointed fingers at social media for allowing stories to be published that no doubt hurt Clinton’s chances of victory but which were nonetheless truthful and full of unassailable details. The Post however, as we’ve demonstrated, is a purveyor of fake news.

2. ‘Hands up, Don’t Shoot’: The Mainstream Media—This phony narrative stems from the Michael Brown shooting death by Ferguson, Missouri, police office Darren Wilson, though arguably, CNN is most responsible for it. As noted by The Daily Wire, the MSM pushed the narrative that 18-year-old Brown, a black man, had his hands in the air (he did not) and shouted, “Don’t shoot!” (he didn’t) when Wilson killed him. Truth of the matter is, Brown began fighting Wilson and tried to grab his gun, which a grand jury later confirmed (as did a number of witnesses on the scene).

For weeks CNN especially pushed this blatant lie, with some of its “news” hosts even putting their hands up on screen one morning, as a “symbol” of their “support” (for the lie).

3. ‘Trump told his supporters to vote multiple times’: CNN—Like him or not, there is no doubt that the MSM did its best to destroy Trump during the campaign, and that, of course, included ginning up fake news. CNN was, of course, in the thick of that. As Mediaite reported, the bottom-feeder “news” network made up a claim that Trump told his supporters to commit voter fraud by voting early and often. In fact, Trump was lamenting that in some polling places in Colorado, where he was attending a campaign event, void ballots four or five times, meaning they could probably vote four or five times. “But we don’t do that,” Trump also said, which was edited out of the original CNN story.

4. Helping Hillary cheat before a ‘debate’ against primary opponent Sen. Bernie Sanders: CNN: Longtime Democratic operative (which is why the network hired her) Donna Brazile worked behind the scenes to warn and inform the Clinton campaign about tough questions she was going to get ahead of a primary debate. Then, in what can only be adding insult to injury, the network executives acted shocked that a former associate of Clinton’s would actually use her media position to help an old friend.

And of course, CNN has waxed sanctimonious about “fake news” also.

5. ‘Natural News is full of fake news’: Forbes—In recent days Forbes columnist Kavin Senapathy, the site’s “myth buster on health, food and science,” wrote a hit piece attacking Natural News and its founder, Mike Adams, the Health Ranger, as a “fake news” apparatus that pushes bogus theories and unscientific information. The defamation, of course, included all Natural News writers and correspondents, of which yours truly is a part of.

But in fact, the communist-Chinese-owned magazine and website couldn’t be more wrong in its indictment of Adams as a pioneering scientist and journalist because we deal in often very inconvenient facts about health, foods, genetically-modified organisms and the scoundrels, politicians, fools and corporations that push unhealthy lifestyle choices and medical Stalinism on all Americans.

We don’t deal in scientific conjecture, we deal in scientific facts. As for Adams, all of his research is hands-on; we’re betting that Senapathy, from her self-anointed position as arbiter of all that is and is not scientifically true, hasn’t been inside a lab conducting real research anytime lately, if at all. So all she is left with is creating a false narrative that we’re the quacks when in reality we are the ones with facts, data and research on our side.

But we’ve come to expect this, as Adams noted:

Every few months, Forbes.com runs a hit piece on Natural News, targeting me personally by gathering up a slew of circular logic quotes from representatives of the biotech, pharma and vaccine industries who ridiculously proclaim they all have a monopoly on science.

They don’t. And especially Senapathy.

6. Janet Cooke’s imaginary 8-year-old heroin addict: Washington Post—As noted by Breitbart, Cooke, a reporter for the Washington Post, completely fabricated an eight-year-old heroin addict in Washington, D.C., in a report on growing addiction that actually won her a Pulitzer Prize (which has since been revoked).

While the story was written in the early 1980s, the Columbia Journalism Review did an extensive piece dissecting it this year dubbing her “the fabulist who changed journalism” (they should have added, ‘for the worse’).

7. Fake newsman Brian Williams slams ‘fake news’: MSNBC—Some of this stuff you just can’t make up (which is hard not to do for a real story about fake news), but it doesn’t get any better than this.

You may recall former NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams, who fell from grace this year after it was discovered that he faked or lied about several events he allegedly covered while on assignment in various parts of the country and the world. The most [in]famous is his lie that, while in Iraq, he was nearly shot down in a helicopter, while receiving no ground fire whatsoever while in-flight.

“It’s curious that Williams is becoming the face of the legacy and establishment media charge against ‘fake news,’ the matter that such media luminaries are rallying around to blame their widely inaccurate reporting of the 2016 presidential election. Williams lost his slot as anchor of the NBC Nightly News after he made up scores of accounts, passing off completely fabricated stories as journalism,” Breitbart news reported, adding that, in 2015, the site published a full accounting of all the lies and fake news passed off as legitimate by Williams—32 times.

Embarrassed and hard-pressed to make it “right,” NBC suspended Williams…only to reinstate him on MSNBC, the cable news network with the least amount of viewers (for a reason).

8. Trump ‘poll-watchers’ sought to intimidate voters: Huffington Post—In October, the Left-wing lunatic “news” site of record sought to peddle a phony story about Vote Protectors, an organization dedicated to ensuring that voter fraud does not occur at various polling places. The linked Vote Protectors to one-time Trump advisor Roger Stone, and thus to Trump himself. The undertone of the story was that a) this was a thinly veiled attempt at voter intimidation; and b) it was inherently racist because Vote Protectors personnel were being sent to nine metro locations “with high minority populations.”

They were even making up “official-looking” ID badges—you know, so the “intimidation” would “officially” be tied to Trump’s campaign.

Only nothing like that was planned nor was anything like that actually carried out. In fact, the last time real voter intimidation was reported was when members of the Black Panthers political organization tried to browbeat white voters at polling stations in Philadelphia during President Obama’s first run at the Oval Office. But alas, the Obama ‘Justice’ Department, led by Eric Holder, dropped the case.

9. Politics had nothing to do with the creation of the ‘fake news’ narrative: The New York Times—In a Christmas Day piece that trashed conservative voices and alternative media—nothing new for the reporters and editors at the Old Gray Lady—The New York Times claimed, incredibly, that politics had nothing to do with the crusade against so-called fake news from everyone else:

Until now, that term had been widely understood to refer to fabricated news accounts that are meant to spread virally online. …

Journalists who work to separate fact from fiction see a dangerous conflation of stories that turn out to be wrong because of a legitimate misunderstanding with those whose clear intention is to deceive. …

“Fake news was a term specifically about people who purposely fabricated stories for clicks and revenue,” said David Mikkelson, the founder of Snopes, the myth-busting website.

In just a few short paragraphs, the Times tells three monumental lies: That alternative media is filled with “fake news;” that Times’ critics like Trump are misconstruing the term “fake news;” and that the Times and other now-discredited mainstream news outlets are the only real sources of legitimate news. The Times even quoted Snopes co-founder Mikkelson, who is now married to a former prostitute who serves as a “fact-checker” on a website that has been proven to be biased against conservatives and libertarians in its ‘myth-busting.’

10. Facebook users are ‘fed up with fake news’: USA Today—Perpetuating the ‘fake news’ lie and narrative, USA Today published a piece in mid-December claiming that “Facebook users are fed up with fake news” [are you starting to see a pattern develop here?]. Naturally the story quoted a couple of Facebook users who, indeed, sure sounded like they were ‘fed up with fake news’ on Facebook.

But there are multiple lies being told or implied here. First of all, this piece was about as unscientific as it gets; the writer and the paper make a blanket claim implying that most Facebook users 1) can even identify “fake news;” and 2) are tired of seeing it in the site’s News Feed. The piece even declares:

Facebook has a fake news problem. And some of its users are fed up with it. They’re not sure if the solution is to let the social network, with its own biases, decide what’s true. Or whether they themselves should become better fact-checkers.

Say what? How is Facebook to know whether stories its news aggregators place into the feed are “real” or “fake,” especially given the examples shown on this list? These are all supposedly “reputable” news organizations, yet we’ve shown clearly how they have invented narratives, pushed falsehoods, and lied to their readers repeatedly—yet their stories make the Facebook News Feed.

What’s more, who gets to decide what is and is not ‘fake news’? For Facebook, anyway, it is going to be some of the very news and ‘myth-busting’ organizations that themselves have been discredited.

Adams has it figured out.

“There’s no question that CNN, WashPost and the NYT are all working against the interests of America and the Constitution,” he told me. “The NYT is owned by a foreign socialist. The Washington Post is owned by a left-wing globalist, and CNN is a puppet propaganda mouthpiece for George Soros.

“These left-wing propaganda rags are deliberately harming America and seeking to bring down the Trump administration by any means possible, including fabricating false accusations and publishing deliberate faked news stories to push their propaganda. They are subversive and a clear and present danger to our democracy,” he added.

After blatantly lying about vaccines and fluoride, AP declares it will join Facebook effort to censor “fake news” /stupidnews/2017-01-20-after-blatantly-lying-about-vaccines-and-fluoride-ap-declares-it-will-join-facebook-effort-to-censor-fake-news /stupidnews/2017-01-20-after-blatantly-lying-about-vaccines-and-fluoride-ap-declares-it-will-join-facebook-effort-to-censor-fake-news#respond Wed, 30 Nov -0001 00:00:00 +0000 http://162.244.66.231/stupidnews/2017-01-20-after-blatantly-lying-about-vaccines-and-fluoride-ap-declares-it-will-join-facebook-effort-to-censor-fake-news The Associated Press won’t report on the vaccine court, which grants unlimited liability to vaccine manufacturers when their products do harm to people. This kangaroo court has paid billions of dollars to families damaged by vaccines, mainly to keep them quiet. Meanwhile, dangerous vaccine science continues to be peddled and sold. And the AP just continues on with the same beloved narrative that all vaccines are safe and effective. The AP is often caught repeating vaccine industry lies. For instance, the AP often claim that mercury has been “phased out” of all vaccines. However, ICP-MS lab tests confirm that there are 51 parts per million of mercury in a flu vaccine which is over 25,000 times the EPA’s maximum allowable concentration of mercury in drinking water. The CDC even admits that mercury hasn’t been completely removed, but the AP is the standard bearer of news, so why doubt them, right?

AP caught lying about fluoride, vaccines, global warming

In much the same way they promote vaccine industry lies, the Associated Press will continue to promote the addition of fluoride byproduct chemicals to municipal water supplies. Even though multiple studies, including one from Harvard, linked fluoridated water to lower IQ and all sorts of health problems, the AP is supposed to be obeyed on the issue of fluoride safety. One AP story criticized a St. Louis community after the municipality stopped adding fluoride chemicals to the water supply. The AP story also failed to distinguish naturally occurring fluoride and the toxic fluoride byproducts that are actually added to the water supply – hexafluorosilicic acid and sodium hexafluorosilicate.

The Associated Press promotes exactly what its masters want. When it comes to the news, there is no truth; there is billions of dollars worth of monetary interests on the line and people in power to protect. In this story, the AP tried to push the global warming narrative with a fake picture and caption, but were forced to retract it when the narrative was exposed.

Independent media, such as Natural News, only answer to the people, not large monetary interests. Independent media challenges the narrative of mainstream media by encouraging skepticism, dissent, opposing viewpoints, and a pursuit for underlying truth. The internet has become a battlefield of information, and mainstream media is losing listeners, readers, and viewers. People can no longer trust the mainstream media. Individuals are telling their own stories and reporting on matters that are real to them. Independent media is growing in popularity and has a wide outreach on social media platforms such as Facebook.

Facebook teaming up with the Associated Press to censor “fake news”

With a big audience and lots of power over information, Facebook itself has become a gatekeeper of news, capable of censorship. Earlier in 2016, a former Facebook employee spoke out about the impartial algorithms used to promote progressive news narratives while suppressing conservative news stories. Facebook has a list of “trusted news outlets” that they use to determine if a story is trending. The more a news story is repeated across the Associated Press, the more it will be promoted. This is one way Facebook suppressed independent media and dissent of the status quo in 2016.

Now the Associated Press has declared to join Facebook in their effort to censor what they call “fake news.” This effort only means that certain powerful interests will control the narrative on Facebook. No longer will these gatekeepers of information tolerate dissent or views that challenge the money interests that control them. Their narrative will be “verified” as “true news” while stories linking fluoride and vaccine ingredients to health problems will be flagged as “fake.” As ZeroHedge reports, through Facebook, the AP will be able to flag a piece of content and mark it as “fake.” Facebook users will see that the story has been declared fake; thus, the AP will have direct influence over people’s minds.

The “fake news” hysteria will easily be used to censor the truth and snuff out dissent, while controlling the narrative of what people think, do, share, and speak about. Vice President for U.S. News, Brian Carovillano explained how he and the AP will operate:

It is our job – more than ever before – to guide people to legitimate news and help them sort out “fake news” from the real thing. The AP has a critical role to play in fighting the scourge of fake news. We are not going to transform ourselves into the fake news police of the internet, but we are going to be more aggressive about knocking down fraudulent stories when we can.

The truth is: it is the duty of the individual to question and assess what they read, see, and hear. Freedom of the press is important for freedom of thought, for diversity. Freedom of the press prevents blind subservience to controllers and manipulators; meanwhile, Facebook and the Associated Press are becoming just that.

Although most people understand the adverse effects of such a work orientated lifestyle, most of us don’t seem to be able to balance work, life, and health.

A recent study conducted at the Australian National University (ANU) indicated that our poor work-life balance has a determinant effect on our health. Lead researcher Dr. Lyndall Strazdins said the results from the first longitudinal study rang alarm bells for major health problems including obesity, type 2 diabetes, and heart disease.

“The overworking culture in Australia is entrenched. We need to limit working hours so people can spend more time doing things that are good for their health,” said Dr. Strazdins from the ANU Research School of Population Health.

And it isn’t any different in the United States. We have become a time poor people, often working two or three jobs to make sure we can put food on the table.

Your money or your time?

While everyone knows that it’s harder for people who are poor to get healthy through buying fresh organic food and a gym membership, remaining healthy also takes time, said Dr. Strazdins. A lack of time is apparently the number one reason most people give for not exercising or eating healthy food.

For the study, the research team followed about 5,000 people over three years, as part of the Household, Income and Labour Dynamics in Australia (HILDA) Survey. Dr. Lyndall Strazdins and colleagues found that one in five people aged between 25 to 54 years don’t have time to exercise and eat healthy food.

Whether it is a lack of time or money, Dr. Strazdins noted that five percent of the participants who were otherwise healthy moved into high-risk inactivity and eating habits within a year. Furthermore, they reported that one in ten people had a combination of time and income scarcity which more than doubled their risk of inactivity.

Both income and time scarcity seem to be the factors that are responsible for our sedentary lifestyle and poor nutritional choices. Instead of consuming fresh fruit and vegetables, the time poor individual eats out more or relies on convenient processed foods which are high in calories, salt, sugar, and fat.

The team concluded that income and time scarcity are patterned by socio-economic status and gender. The results of their study underline the need to address both issues if public health interventions are to be more efficient and fair.

The key to a healthy family is to plan ahead

Speaking to The Canberra Times, Stacy Morgan, who has just completed a degree in nutrition at the University of Canberra, said that the key to healthy eating is to plan ahead. With three teenage sons, a young daughter, and a husband, Stacy knows what it’s like to be time poor.

Nonetheless, she is a firm believer in the benefits a healthy lifestyle generates. Therefore, she has made physical activity and healthy eating a priority for herself and her family.

“You have to make it a priority,” Stacy said. “It’s about being organized, and putting things in your diary, and being mentally committed to a healthy lifestyle,” she added.

Stacy’s advice is to plan your meals ahead, shop once a week, and incorporate as much movement in your day as possible. If you have a meal plan for the week and all the ingredients in the fridge you’re less likely to make unhealthy food choices, she said.

Men are suing drug company over medicine that made them grow breasts /stupidnews/2017-01-20-men-are-suing-drug-company-over-medicine-that-made-them-grow-breasts /stupidnews/2017-01-20-men-are-suing-drug-company-over-medicine-that-made-them-grow-breasts#respond Wed, 30 Nov -0001 00:00:00 +0000 http://162.244.66.231/stupidnews/2017-01-20-men-are-suing-drug-company-over-medicine-that-made-them-grow-breasts Teenagers change physically in a very short span of time, maturing mentally, physically and sexually. But one Big Pharma drug transformed many teenaged boys physically in ways that are very unnatural, and now they are set to exact a price—in court.

As reported by CNN, when he was 13, Eddie Bible looked into the mirror and did not see a boy staring back; that’s because he was sporting some very large breasts. “I had bigger boobs than the girls in (high) school,” he said, even at one point wondering if he would have to start wearing a “training bra.”

Come to find out Bible was suffering a side effect of a drug he was taking at the time—Risperdal, given for anxiety and bipolar disorder—but neither he nor scores of other users knew about it because the drug maker had not informed anyone.

“The doctors said, ‘Well, Risperdal was helping some.’ To me, it really didn’t help, because a year and a half later, I had gynecomastia,” Bible said.

Left thousands of patients feeling worse than before they began taking the drug

That is a condition which causes teenage boys or men’s breast tissue to grow. Bible, along with thousands of others, are now preparing a lawsuit against Johnson & Johnson for damages, alleging the company did not reveal the potential side effect quickly enough.

It’s not entirely uncommon for boys to develop some breast tissue as they move through puberty, but in the case of Risperdal, it’s different. The size of the growth, Bible says, was humiliating.

And first he accredited the outsized growth to just weight gain, which is also a side effect of the drug. So initially, he didn’t think much about it. But apparently the growth of breast tissue continued, becoming significant.

He told CNN had he known growing large breasts was a potential side effect of the drug he would not have elected to take it (few 13-year-old boys would; it’s an awkward, self-conscious age as it is).

As his breasts grew larger, he grew more secluded, opting to stay inside to play video games in his room and block out the world rather than spend time outside with friends. He says when he was forced to go outdoors and to school, he would have to deal with “the looks,” he said, as well as comments from fellow students.

“I’d go to the locker room, and people would point and stare,” he said, noting that the psychological effects of dealing with the breast growth was much worse than the bipolar disorder the medication was supposed to treat.

Now 26, Bible says he believes Johnson & Johnson and its subsidiary, Janssen (which marketed the drug) took advantage of him. He said that everyone picked on him “being a boy with boobs,” which he described as “depressing.”

History of lawsuits and settlements

After being on the market for more than 10 years, in 2006 the company began including information in Risperdal packaging that one of its side effects was breast tissue growth. But for Bible, that information came much too late. When he looks back at what happened, he says he feels “like an experiment.”

The company, in a statement to the news network, said on behalf of its subsidiary that it sees Risperdal as a useful medication that is “essential” to helping people who are affected with mental issues. The company also put the onus on doctors, because they “decide how best to treat their patients.”

Yes, but if they don’t know all the side effects of a medication because the maker hasn’t told them, how are they to make the best treatment decisions for their patients? So who is at fault here, really?

It gets worse. The World Health Organization has formally endorsed risperidone, the chemical name for Risperdal, by placing it on its list of “essential medicines,” meaning it is “one of the minimum medicines needed for a basic healthcare system.”

But since the drug hit the market in 1994, it has been controversial, and not simply due to the gynecomastia. J & J has had to pay out more than $2 billion in settlements and penalties to state and government entities due to lawsuits related to Risperdal and a pair of additional drugs, not to mention the criminal and civil complaints.

And now, it appears as though the company may have to pay again.

“The View” is now just a hub for liberal zombies to feed on gossip, innuendo and fake news /stupidnews/2017-01-19-the-view-is-now-just-a-hub-for-liberal-zombies-to-feed-on-gossip-innuendo-and-fake-news /stupidnews/2017-01-19-the-view-is-now-just-a-hub-for-liberal-zombies-to-feed-on-gossip-innuendo-and-fake-news#respond Wed, 30 Nov -0001 00:00:00 +0000 http://162.244.66.231/stupidnews/2017-01-19-the-view-is-now-just-a-hub-for-liberal-zombies-to-feed-on-gossip-innuendo-and-fake-news Thus far, there hasn’t been a shred of proof or evidence offered by the Obama administration that ‘The Russians hacked the election’ in a way that helped GOP nominee Donald J. Trump defeat Democrat Hillary Clinton. Nevertheless, the angry Left—animated and egged on by the Obama regime—continues to push this false narrative, as if it will someday, someway, de-legitimize Trump’s victory and result in the collapse of his presidency.

In recent days, however, fake news sites including CNN and Buzzfeed were caught peddling another phony story, this one dealing with a mystery ‘dossier’ of dirt that the Russians allegedly had on Trump, which is the new reason why Moscow ‘backed Trump over Clinton’—blackmail! Like the “hacking” narrative, this latest one is also bogus, as both of those “news” sites even admitted. But leave it to the Left’s sycophants in the entertainment media to pick up the ‘story’ and pretend that it’s true, again just to slander and de-legitimize Trump. [RELATED: Keep track of the latest bogus media reporting at MediaFactWatch.com].

Enter the not-so-brainy hosts of “The View.” As reported by The Daily Caller, reliable Leftist ideologue Whoopi Goldberg—who can’t find a real acting job anymore and hasn’t been able to for years—and her fellow idiot, Joy Behar, laid into Trump over these unsubstantiated reports and pretended they were real, as a sop to the brain-dead people who still watch this program.

“Now we can’t get into specifics,” Goldberg said, “but I do have to ask because he’s being showered with allegations right now, is this a golden opportunity for Democrats or will he be able to clean up these leaks?”

Of course she ‘can’t get into specifics.’ Because there are no ‘specifics’ to get into. Trump has denounced this “fake news” for what it is, just the latest witch hunt against his very legitimate electoral win. So, sorry, Whoopi…no ‘golden opportunity’ here.

But the fantasia didn’t stop there.

“We said they are unsubstantiated, but I do recall the days when they were saying Obama wasn’t an American — he’s a Muslim — or he’s part of the Taliban. Those weren’t substantiated. Those were fake news and yet they ran with it,” Goldberg said.

“Well, we’re going to run with this, too,” Joy Behar cut in. “I’ve got my running shoes on.”

The shockingly nauseating thought of 74-year-old Behar ‘running’ anywhere aside, there are now, and always have been, facts implicating Obama’s outright preference for Muslims. Even if he’s not actually Muslim, he’s a Muslim sympathizer, and he has made that very plain and very clear on several occasions, as well as in his conduct of foreign policy.

Also, former Libertarian vice presidential nominee and author Wayne Allyn Root, who was a classmate of Obama’s when the future president was attending Columbia University in New York. Root said in this August 2012 column—just a few months before Obama’s reelection—that then-GOP nominee Mitt Romney should call out the president to release his college transcripts that he ordered sealed during his first term. Why? Because Obama was calling out Romney to release tax returns (which he did) on the allegation that the multimillionaire finance guru was hiding something illegal (as in, not paying his ‘fair share’ of taxes). [RELATED: Stay up with the latest political scams at Hoax.news]

Root wrote that his “gut instinct” is that Obama is hiding something in those transcripts because they contain irreparably damaging information:

Here’s my gut belief: Obama got a leg up by being admitted to both Occidental and Columbia as a foreign exchange student. He was raised as a young boy in Indonesia. But did his mother ever change him back to a U.S. citizen? When he returned to live with his grandparents in Hawaii or as he neared college-age preparing to apply to schools, did he ever change his citizenship back? I’m betting not.

If you could unseal Obama’s Columbia University records I believe you’d find that:

A)   He rarely ever attended class.

B)   His grades were not those typical of what we understand it takes to get into Harvard Law School.

C)   He attended Columbia as a foreign exchange student.

D)   He paid little for either undergraduate college or Harvard Law School because of foreign aid and scholarships given to a poor foreign students [sic] like this kid Barry Soetoro from Indonesia.

Mind you, Obama has never released his school transcripts, and we’re betting he’s never going to. Imagine if someday Americans found out that Obama really wasn’t an American citizen; nothing that he signed or did as president would be valid. But you won’t hear hacks like Goldberg and Behar discussing why Root, as a classmate, never heard of Barry Soetoro [Obama] while at Columbia, and why a Fox News investigation 2008, in which the network contacted 400 of Obama’s former classmates, could not turn up anyone who remembered seeing the future president on campus, much less in class.

They won’t, of course. They’ll continue to chase false narratives and report fake news, because that’s what their delusional minion viewers want. But it will come at a political price.

Already, the Democratic Party has ceased to be a national party. Creating more lies and fake news to discredit an effective Trump presidency will lead to even more Democratic defeats at the ballot box, especially as Americans begin to see tangible results from Trump’s pledge to “Make America Great Again” (as we already are). And “The View” will continue to be nothing more than a little-watched daytime hang-out for the delusional.

Burning freedom: U.S. government raid ends in court order to destroy baked goods, cookies and pies /stupidnews/2017-01-18-burning-freedom-us-government-raid-ends-in-court-order-to-destroy-baked-goods-cookies-and-pies /stupidnews/2017-01-18-burning-freedom-us-government-raid-ends-in-court-order-to-destroy-baked-goods-cookies-and-pies#respond Wed, 30 Nov -0001 00:00:00 +0000 http://162.244.66.231/stupidnews/2017-01-18-burning-freedom-us-government-raid-ends-in-court-order-to-destroy-baked-goods-cookies-and-pies Granted, here at Natural News we promote gluten- and GMO-free foods, along with 100-percent authentic and natural ingredients in some of our top-selling superfoods like our Turmeric Gold product. But we also promote freedom – freedom for individuals to choose what to prepare and eat on their own, without government interference or intervention.

It’s just too bad not all governments believe the same thing.

In recent days, the Farm-to-Consumer Legal Defense Fund, a non-profit organization that supports direct farmer-to-consumer commerce, issued an alert involving the Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD), the latter of which filed a complaint that has infuriated freedom lovers and supporters of government-free food commerce everywhere.

In its complaint, filed with the Livingston County Circuit Court, MDARD seeks permission from a judge to order the destruction of 18 homemade oatmeal cookies and 17 homemade apple muffins. You just can’t make this stuff up. [RELATED: See daily the injustices suffered by Americans everywhere at Freedom.news]

The cookies and muffins were among other foods seized by the state agency during a Sept. 1, 2016, raid (yes, raid) of Dairy Delight Cow Boarding, LLC, a herd share dairy farm owned and operated by Kris Unger in Cohoctah Township.

Members of the defense fund have been subjected to these kinds of food seizures since the organization was founded. However, nearly all previous raids and seizures have been launched against meat and dairy products – never baked goods.

“The Unger case is great testimony for why a legal distinction needs to be established between the public and private distribution of food and why government agencies should leave the private distribution of food alone,” the alert from FTCLDF stated.

The organization said events that eventually led to the Sept. 1 raid began August 23, when the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) got in contact with the Livingston County Department of Public Health (LCDPH) to inform the local agency that two children had been infected with E. coli O157:H7 that the state HHS had determined came from a raw milk source.

On Aug. 26, an MDARD inspector, along with colleague from the county agency, arrived at Daisy Delight to investigate whether the E. coli originated there. By that time, the father of one of the sick children had spoken with Unger about it; the other sick child had been with the father’s son shortly before both fell ill.

The father said he believed that the source of the E. coli was from a taco his son ate and not from raw milk he drank. In fact, he said he was “pretty sure” that was the case.

Nevertheless, when the inspectors arrived, Unger answered several of their questions about the herd-share operation. She said she told them she had been in contact with herd shareholders and that none of them had gotten sick, though some of them, too, had drunk the raw milk. After the inspectors insisted she provide them with contact information for all of the shareholders, she refused and asked them to leave, refusing to allow them to inspect the farm.

Then, on Sept. 1, inspectors from both agencies, accompanied by a pair of Livingston County Sheriff’s Department deputies, returned to the farm with an administrative inspection warrant. While inspecting the dairy operation, the agents seized the baked goods along with other foods including honey, kombucha, eggs and sauerkraut, claiming they were “not properly labeled,” and “were not from regulated sources and were being offered for retail sale.”

MDARD’s position is that if a food product is supposed to come from a regulated source and is not, it is adulterated.

“If anyone should not have been regulated for the sale of the seized foods, it was Unger. The foods were only for sale to herd share members. Unger did not make any money off the sale of the seized foods. Most of the foods were produced by herd share members. Unger was only allowing the sale of the products as an accommodation to them,” FTCLDF said in the alert. [RELATED: Stay current with all the bureaucratic lunacy at BigGovernment.news]

But because of not bowing down to this kind of food tyranny, Unger is in the crosshairs of the ubiquitous regulatory state. Besides asking for the seized foods to be destroyed, MDARD also wants the court to permanently ban Unger from selling food without a license, selling from other than an “approved” source, and selling food that is misbranded or adulterated.

FTCLDF states that sale and distribution of food from the Unger operation is none of the state’s business because it amounts to a closed-loop transaction stemming from a voluntary membership.

“Unger’s herd share members do not want MDARD’s protection; they want to be left alone,” the organization said. “The legislature needs to look at changing the law so that private contractual arrangements outside the stream of public commerce are not regulated.”

Anti-Trump protester sets himself on fire outside Trump’s D.C. hotel /stupidnews/2017-01-18-anti-trump-protester-sets-himself-on-fire-outside-trumps-d-c-hotel /stupidnews/2017-01-18-anti-trump-protester-sets-himself-on-fire-outside-trumps-d-c-hotel#respond Wed, 30 Nov -0001 00:00:00 +0000 http://162.244.66.231/stupidnews/2017-01-18-anti-trump-protester-sets-himself-on-fire-outside-trumps-d-c-hotel A protester set himself on fire outside Trump International Hotel in Washington DC on Tuesday.

(Article by Jennifer Smith from DailyMail.com)

The man, who has not yet been identified, said the act was in protest of the President-elect’s looming inauguration.

Witnesses described how he yelled ‘Trump’ several times as ‘flames ran up his back’ before lying down in the street.

He suffered non-life-threatening burns and was taken to hospital shortly after the incident at around 9.30pm.

A Washington DC Police source told DailyMail.com he was not arrested.

2

The man said he was from California and that he was acting in protest against Trump

In a brief interview with NBC at the scene, he said: ‘I tried to light myself on fire as an act of protest.

‘(I’m protesting) the fact that we’ve elected somebody who is completely incapable of respecting the constitution of the United States.’

A Washington DC Police source said the man was injured but that his wounds were not serious.

Authorities said they were called to the hotel after receiving a report of a person ‘in distress’.

A bypasser said it was not initially clear what the man was protesting when he set fire to items of clothing in the street outside the hotel.

‘He set himself on fire and as flames ran up his back he yelled Trump several times then lay down in the street.

Fire crews and an ambulance was called to the hotel shortly after 9.30pm to deal with the incident

3

Washington DC Police said the man was not arrested and did not suffer life-threatening injuries

(He) then walked over to the police/security,’ Michael Shoag, who arrived at the hotel after the man set himself on fire, said.

While the man appeared to have suffered burns to his back, he was able to walk.

Anti-Trump protesters have been flocking to Washington DC this week ahead of Friday’s inauguration.

They also inundated Ivanka Trump’s Manhattan home on Tuesday, carrying moving boxes plastered with protest slogans to mock the businesswoman’s move to Washington.

New York Mayor Bill de Blasio said on Tuesday he would also join demonstrators at a protest outside the family’s Manhattan hotel on the eve of the inauguration.

‘I’m rallying at Trump Int’l Hotel at 6PM on January 19 because our next president needs to hear from all NYers before he takes office. Join us,’ the mayor tweeted.

Here are the Democrats who are skipping Trump’s inauguration /stupidnews/2017-01-18-here-are-the-democrats-who-are-skipping-trumps-inauguration /stupidnews/2017-01-18-here-are-the-democrats-who-are-skipping-trumps-inauguration#respond Wed, 30 Nov -0001 00:00:00 +0000 http://162.244.66.231/stupidnews/2017-01-18-here-are-the-democrats-who-are-skipping-trumps-inauguration At last count, over 50 Democrats have announced they will be skipping President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration on Friday, January 20.

(Article by Adelle Nazarian from Breitbart.com)

The majority of them are from the deep blue state of California.

According to Roll Call, Democrats who are planning to skip Trump’s historic swearing-in ceremony include Reps. John Lewis (D-GA), Steve Cohen (D-TN), Jerrold Nadler (D-NY), Don Beyer (D-VA), Mark Takano (D-CA), Yvette Clarke (D-NY), Ted Liu (D-CA), Raul Grijalva (D-AZ), John Conyers (D-MI), Mark Desaulnier (D-CA), Rep. Nydia Velazquez (D-NY), Kurt Schrader (D-OR), Pramila Jayapal (D-WA), William Lacy Clay (D-MO), Barbara Lee (D-CA), Jos Serrano (D-NY), Judy Chu (D-CA), Luis Gutierrez (D-IL), Jared Huffman (D-CA), Katherine Clark (D-MA), Earl Blumenauer (D-OR), Karen Bass (D-CA), Keith Ellison (D-MI), Adriano Espaillat (D-NY), Mark Pocan (D-WI), Maxine Waters (D-CA), Marcia Fudge (D-OH), Al Green (D-TX), Lucille Roybal-Allard (D-CA), Bonnie Watson Coleman (D-NJ), Anthony Brown (D-MD), Chellie Pingree (D-ME), John Yarmouth (D-KY), Dwight Evans (D-PA), Zoe Lofgren (D-CA), Grace Napolitano (D-CA), Raul Ruiz (D-CA), Adam Smith (D-WA), Darren Sotto (D-FL), Ruben Gallego (D-AZ), G.K. Butterfield (D-NC), Joaquin Castro (D-TX), Tony Cardenas (D-CA), Mike Doyle (D-PA), Carol Shea-Porter (D-NH), Donald M. Payne (D-NJ), Alma Adams (D-N.C.), Brendan F. Boyle (D-PA), Robert A. Brady (D-PA), Frederica Wilson (D-FL), Jerry McNerney (D-CA), and Peter A. DeFazio (D-OR).

Although no Democratic senators have indicated they will be missing the inauguration, CNN has suggested that Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) has left the door open for those deciding to do so. Schumer said, “I think each person has to make the choice on their own, but I don’t begrudge those who have said they’re boycotting. Each person can make his or her own decision.”

Dozens of Democratic lawmakers announced they would not attend the inauguration after legendary civil rights activist Rep. John Lewis stated that he does not believe Trump is a “legitimate president,” that he is “wrong” for the nation, and that this is the first inauguration at which he will not be present.

However, soon after he made his comment, a report surfaced that Lewis had skipped George W. Bush’s inauguration because he did not believe Bush was the true elected president, thus it would be hypocritical for him to attend.

Trump tweeted, “John Lewis said about my inauguration, ‘It will be the first one that I’ve missed.’ WRONG (or lie)! He boycotted Bush 43 also because he thought it would be hypocritical to attend Bush’s swearing-in….he doesn’t believe Bush is the true elected president.’ Sound familiar!”

New Hampshire Democrat Rep. Carol Shea-Porter noted that instead of attending the inauguration she’ll go to religious services to “pray for all of our leaders and people.” Shea-Porter represents a congressional district that Trump won. In fact, Trump won more votes than Shea-Porter did. Shea-Porter received 162,080 votes in her district, CD-1. Trump received 179,259 in the same district.

Jeanie Forrester, who is running for chair of the New Hampshire Republican Party, sent out a tweet pointing this out:

Forrester, who is running uncontested and has received the backing of Gov. Chris Sununu (R-NH), will face elections on Jan. 28.

In response to the Democrats skipping the inauguration, Rep. Sean Duffy (R-WI) said, “Put your big boy pants on.” He added, “and let’s start working together.”
